This document introduces the ADT7466 dBCool controller, a complete thermal monitor and dual fan controller for noise-sensitive notebook PCs.
The ADT7466 dBCool® remote thermal controller and voltage monitor provides dual‑fan control, temperature monitoring of two analog inputs or thermistors, and up to two remote diode sensors. It includes automatic fan speed control, acoustic enhancement mode, and thermal protection via a THERM output, all accessible through an SMBus 1.1 serial interface.
The manual covers specifications, absolute maximum ratings, pin configuration, functional description, serial bus timing, temperature measurement methods, fan drive and speed control, register maps, typical performance graphs, and ordering information. It also includes application circuits and test procedures for designers and engineers.
