About this manual

The PS8501, PS8501L1, PS8501L2 and PS8501L3 are 8‑pin high‑speed photo couplers with a GaAlAs LED input and a PN photodiode plus amplifier on the output. They are offered in DIP and lead‑bending (Gull‑wing) packages with a minimum 8 mm creepage distance for high‑voltage isolation.

The data sheet lists electrical characteristics such as a 35 V maximum supply voltage, 5 kV isolation rating, 8 mA output current, and propagation delays around 0.2–0.4 µs. Ordering information, safety approvals (UL, CSA, BSI, etc.), and usage cautions for static protection and temperature handling are also included.
