The PS2562-1 is optically coupled isolators containing a GaAs light emitting diode and an NPN silicon darlington connected phototransistor.
The NEC PS2562 series are optically coupled isolators that combine a GaAs light‑emitting diode with an NPN Darlington phototransistor. They are offered in several package styles: a plastic DIP for the PS2562‑1, lead‑bending (Gull‑wing) for the PS2562L‑1, and long‑creepage lead‑bending versions for the PS2562L1‑1 and PS2562L2‑1.
Key features include a high isolation voltage of 5 kV rms, a high current transfer ratio up to 2000 % typical, and fast switching (100 ns typical). The devices are UL, BSI, CSA, NEMKO, SEMKO, DEMKO, FIMKO and DIN EN60747‑5‑2 approved, making them suitable for power supplies, telephone/FAX equipment, FA/OA equipment and programmable logic controllers.
| Isolation Voltage (BV) | 5000 V rms |
|---|---|
| Forward Current (DC) | 80 mA |
| Collector Current (Ic) | 200 mA |
| Power Dissipation (Po) – Diode | 150 mW |
| Power Dissipation (Po) – Transistor | 200 mW |
| Peak Forward Current | 1 A |
| Collector‑to‑Emitter Voltage (Vceo) | 40 V |
The series is UL approved (File No. E72422), BSI approved (No. 7112/7420), CSA approved (No. CA 101391), NEMKO approved (No. P03200272), SEMKO approved (No. 303059), DEMKO approved (No. 312341), FIMKO approved (No. FI 10620) and DIN EN60747‑5‑2 approved.
Typical applications include power supplies, telephone/FAX equipment, FA/OA equipment and programmable logic controllers.
The PS2562‑1 is offered in a plastic DIP package, the PS2562L‑1 in a lead‑bending Gull‑wing surface‑mount package, and the PS2562L1‑1 and PS2562L2‑1 in lead‑bending packages designed for long creepage distance (the latter with a Gull‑wing style).
