The MXL1344A is a multi-protocol terminator produced by Maxim. It can be used to terminate V.11 (RS-422, RS-530, RS-530A, RS-449, V.36 and X.21), V.35 and V.28 (RS-232) and V.10 (RS-423) protocols.
The MXL1344A provides six software‑selectable termination networks that can be configured for V.11 (RS‑422/RS‑530/RS‑530A/RS‑449/V.36/X‑21), V.35, V.28 (RS‑232) and V.10 (RS‑423). Termination mode is chosen by the serial‑interface cable wiring or by logic pins (M0‑M2, DCE/DTE). The device replaces discrete resistor networks and relays, saving board space and cost.
The part is supplied in a 24‑pin SSOP package, operates from a +5 V supply (VCC) and can use the VEE power generated by the companion MXL1543 charge pump. Electrical specifications include a 0 °C to +70 °C commercial temperature range, 640 mW maximum power dissipation, and differential‑mode impedance of about 100 Ω across the selected protocol.

The mode is selected by the state of the mode‑select pins M0, M1, M2 and the DCE/DTE pin, either by cable wiring or by software control.
When M0, M1 and M2 are all high or left unconnected, the device enters no‑cable mode, placing all six networks in V.11 mode.
Yes, the terminator can use the VEE power generated by the MXL1543 charge pump.
