The UCC3581 is a low-power voltage mode pulse width modulator designed to control low-power isolated DC-DC converters. It features low startup and operating current, and can drive power MOSFETs at frequencies up to 100kHz. The device includes programmable soft start circuitry, overcurrent detection, and a linear preregulator, making it suitable for single switch forward and flyback converters.
The UCC1581, UCC2581 and UCC3581 are micropower voltage‑mode PWM controllers designed for low‑power isolated DC‑DC converters. They feature low startup and operating current, programmable duty‑cycle, soft‑start, over‑current protection and an external synchronization pin.
The devices are offered in 14‑pin PDIP, SOIC and ceramic dual‑in‑line packages, with operating temperature ranges from –55 °C to +125 °C (UCC1581) and 0 °C to +70 °C (UCC3581). Electrical characteristics such as supply voltage, output current, oscillator frequency and duty‑cycle limits are detailed in the following sections.
