This document introduces the replacement tips for Antex soldering irons, emphasizing that only Antex bits should be used, as they have been specifically designed to match the power output of the heating element. ANTEX replacement bits are manufactured from high-grade copper, plated first with iron and then chrome to provide a long working life. By designing the bit to wrap around the heating element, ANTEX ensures maximum heat transfer into the bit and minimum heat loss to the surrounding environment. Tests have shown that an ANTEX 25 watt iron has equivalent soldering power to many other manufacturers' 40 watt irons.
