About this manual

The MAX14983E is a 1:2 VGA multiplexer that switches RGB video signals, HSYNC/VSYNC, DDC, and provides two +5 V power switches with current limiting and reverse‑current protection. Integrated pull‑up resistors on the DDC lines and an internal 2.5 V regulator enable compatibility with low‑voltage graphics controllers, while monitor‑detect outputs allow automatic or controller‑driven switching.

The device is supplied in a 32‑pin TQFN‑EP package and operates from a single +5 V supply over a –40 °C to +85 °C temperature range. Electrical specifications include up to 50 mA continuous current per RGB switch, 0.3 V voltage drop on the 5 V switches at 55 mA, bandwidth of 500‑800 MHz, and ESD protection of 11 kV (HBM) on monitor‑detect pins and 2 kV on all other pins.
