The MAX5188/MAX5191 is a dual 8-bit, alternate-phase-update, current-output digital-to-analog converter (DAC) designed for superior performance in systems requiring analog signal reconstruction with low distortion and low-power operation.
The MAX5188 and MAX5191 are dual‑channel 8‑bit digital‑to‑analog converters capable of up to 40 MHz clock rates. They provide current‑output (MAX5188) or voltage‑output (MAX5191) operation with an integrated +1.2 V low‑noise bandgap reference that can be disabled for external references.
Both devices operate from a single 2.7 V to 3.3 V supply, feature low‑power standby and shutdown modes (1 µA shutdown current), and are supplied in a 28‑pin QSOP package rated for –40 °C to +85 °C. The datasheet includes electrical characteristics, pin descriptions, timing diagrams, and recommended PCB layout guidelines.
