This document provides the installation manual for HPF24S series power supplies and discusses the limitations of a fire alarm system. The HPF24S series power supplies are components of a fire alarm system that can provide early warning of a developing fire. However, a fire alarm system does not guarantee warning or protection against fire. The document also mentions the recommendations for installing smoke and/or heat detectors and provides references to relevant standards and guides.
The HPF24S series provides compact, remote 24 VDC power supplies and battery chargers for fire alarm notification appliance circuits. Each unit can drive four Style Y (Class B) NACs, with optional conversion to Style Z (Class A) using a ZNAC‑4 module, and supports both 12 VDC and 24 VDC control panels. Models differ by input voltage (110/120 VAC or 220/240 VAC) and regional certification (U.S. or Canadian).\n\nInstallation requires disconnecting all power sources, observing grounding and static‑safety practices, and following the wiring and mounting guidelines in Sections 2 and 3. Proper jumper settings, LED indicator checks, and supervision of fault conditions ensure reliable operation and compliance with NFPA 72 and UL 864 standards.
| Output Voltage | 24 VDC |
|---|---|
| Maximum Current per Output Circuit | 3.0 A |
| Total Continuous Current (model HPF24S8) | 8 A |
| Input Compatibility | 12 VDC and 24 VDC control panel NACs |
| Number of Output Circuits | Four |
Each output circuit can supply up to 3.0 amps.
The supplies accept 12 VDC or 24 VDC control panel inputs.
All AC power and battery sources must be disconnected before removing or inserting circuit boards.
