This document describes the features and characteristics of ProTek Devices' steering diode/TVS array combo product, including 500 watts peak pulse power, bidirectional configuration, protection for up to 6 lines, ESD protection > 40 kilovolts, low capacitance, etc.
The PSRDA3.3-6 to PSRDA5-6 series are low‑capacitance, bidirectional TVS arrays designed to protect I/O or high‑speed data lines from ESD and EFT events. Each line can handle up to 500 W peak pulse power (8/20 µs) and offers ESD protection greater than 40 kV. The devices are suitable for Ethernet, USB, VGA, set‑top box, and industrial control applications and meet IEC 61000‑4‑2, ‑4‑4, and ‑4‑5 standards.
Key specifications include a 15 pF line capacitance, UL‑94V‑0 flammability rating, and a molded JEDEC SO‑8 package weighing approximately 15 mg. Mechanical drawings give package dimensions (A = 4.80‑5.00 mm, B = 3.80‑4.00 mm, etc.) and tape‑and‑reel ordering options. Application notes advise placing the TVS device close to connectors, minimizing trace length, and using solid ground planes for optimal EMC performance.
