National Semiconductor LM75 Digital Temperature Sensor Two-Wire Interface Datasheet

The LM75 is a temperature sensor, Delta-Sigma analog-to-digital converter, and digital over-temperature detector with I2C interface. It can be queried for temperature readings and has programmable alarm thresholds and conditions. The LM75 features SOP-8 and Mini SOP-8 (MSOP) packages, low power consumption, and support for up to 8 LM75s connected to a single bus.

About this manual

The LM75 digital temperature sensor integrates a band‑gap temperature detector, a 9‑bit Delta‑Sigma ADC and an open‑drain over‑temperature shutdown output. It operates from 3.0 V to 5.5 V and can be addressed on an I²C bus with up to eight devices on the same bus. The device powers up in comparator mode with default alarm limits of 80 °C (Tₒg) and 75 °C (Tᵧₛₜ).

The datasheet provides electrical characteristics, pin descriptions, ordering information for SOP‑8 and MSOP‑8 packages, and mechanical dimensions. It also includes application notes such as thermal management, shutdown current specifications, and life‑support usage restrictions.
