This datasheet introduces the features and characteristics of the MCP1603 500mA synchronous buck regulator, including input voltage range, output current, working mode, package type, etc.
The MCP1603 is a high‑efficiency, fully integrated synchronous buck regulator designed for 2.7 V‑5.5 V input sources such as single‑cell Li‑ion or multi‑cell NiMH/NiCd batteries. It operates at a fixed 2.0 MHz PWM frequency under heavy load and automatically switches to PFM mode at light load to minimize quiescent current.
The device is offered in adjustable (0.8 V‑4.5 V) and fixed output versions (1.2 V, 1.5 V, 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.3 V) and is available in compact 5‑lead TSOT and 8‑lead DFN packages. Integrated protection includes UVLO, over‑temperature, and over‑current shutdown.
