About this manual

The EZ-USB FX2LP™ family (CY7C68013A/14A/15A/16A) is a low‑power, USB 2.0 high‑speed microcontroller that integrates a smart SIE, enhanced 8051 core, GPIF, and multiple programmable endpoints. It is pin‑compatible with the original FX2 and offers up to 16 KB of on‑chip code/data RAM, four programmable bulk/interrupt/isochronous endpoints, and flexible 8‑ or 16‑bit external data interfaces.

The device supports full‑speed (12 Mbps) and high‑speed (480 Mbps) USB operation, provides two USARTs, three timers, and a versatile interrupt system with autovectoring. It is available in several lead‑free packages and can operate in both bus‑powered and self‑powered configurations, making it suitable for portable video recorders, DSL modems, memory card readers, and other USB‑enabled peripherals.
