About this manual

The HEF4511B integrates four BCD address inputs (Da‑Dp) with an active‑LOW latch enable (EL), active‑LOW ripple‑blanking (BI) and active‑LOW lamp‑test (LT) to drive seven segment displays. When EL is low the segment outputs follow the BCD data; when EL goes high the data are latched and the outputs remain stable.

The device is offered in three package types: 16‑lead DIL plastic (SOT38‑1), 16‑lead DIL ceramic (SOT74) and 16‑lead SO (SOT109‑1). Electrical characteristics include a maximum source current of 25 mA per segment, typical output voltages around 4.1 V at 5 V supply, and input transition times under 20 ns.
