About this manual

The DS2711 and DS2712 are designed for in‑system or stand‑alone charging of one or two AA or AAA NiMH cells. They monitor temperature, voltage, and charge time to provide fast‑charge control algorithms and include tests to detect defective or alkaline cells. Both devices support series and parallel topologies with independent monitoring of each cell, and they also support NiCd chemistry.

The documents provide full pin descriptions, ordering information, absolute maximum ratings, recommended operating conditions, electrical characteristics, and detailed charge‑algorithm operation for both linear‑control (DS2711) and switch‑mode control (DS2712) implementations. Application examples for series and parallel configurations, charge‑mode selection, and LED status indicators are also included.
