This document describes the features and characteristics of the Nikon 340.00 - 354.00 MHz and US FCC / IC 433.42 - 434.42 MHz, CE MAKE IT POSSIBLE™ products. It runs on powerful software called ControlTL®, which is pre-set with default settings for immediate use or can be configured to specific needs using the PocketWizard Utility that can be downloaded at www.PocketWizard.com/support/downloads.
This Quick Guide explains how to set up and operate the PocketWizard MiniTT1 transmitter and FlexTT5 transceiver with Nikon cameras and Speedlights. It covers basic connection steps, flash settings, and the use of PocketWizard ControlTL software for configuration and firmware updates.
The guide also details advanced wireless CLS/i‑TTL operation, studio flash integration, battery information, specifications, and troubleshooting procedures such as resetting channels and factory defaults.
| Trigger Delay | 0 seconds (≈ 900 µs in Basic Trigger Mode) |
|---|---|
| Batteries (FlexTT5) | 2 × AA (IEC:LR6) – up to 60 hours |
| Batteries (MiniTT1) | CR2450 or CR2354 – approx. 30 hours |
| Operating Temperature (FlexTT5) | -15 °C to 50 °C |
| Operating Temperature (MiniTT1) | -12 °C to 50 °C |
Hold the TEST button while powering up; a short green blink resets the channels, while holding for more than 10 seconds restores factory defaults.
Use the PocketWizard Utility (downloadable from PocketWizard.com) to update all ControlTL radios to the latest firmware for best functionality.
Use fresh high‑capacity AA batteries for the FlexTT5 and fresh CR2450/CR2354 coin cells for the MiniTT1; low temperature reduces battery life.
