Oxford Semiconductor has a product called OXmPCI954, which features four 16C950 high-performance UART channels, an 8-bit pass-through local bus PCI bridge, an IEEE1284 compliant SPP/EPP/ECP parallel port, and other various characteristics.
The OXmPCI954 integrates four ultra‑high performance OX16C950 UARTs, each with a 128‑byte deep FIFO, and provides a 3.3 V PCI/miniPCI interface. It supports both an 8‑bit local bus and an IEEE‑1284 compliant SPP/EPP/ECP parallel port, allowing flexible expansion for serial and parallel applications. The device operates over a wide temperature range (‑40 °C to 105 °C) and is available in 160‑pin LQFP or 176‑pin VBGA packages.
Multiple operating modes are defined, including backward‑compatible and enhanced modes, as well as a standalone mode for direct local‑bus access. Power management complies with PCI Power Management Specification 1.1, and an optional Microwire‑compatible EEPROM allows full re‑configuration of device parameters and subsystem IDs.
