This document introduces the features and characteristics of the DS1844 quad digital potentiometer, including four independent, digitally controlled 64-position potentiometers, two interface control options, standard resistance values, mixed resistor value combinations, and operating temperature range.
The DS1844 Quad Digital Potentiometer is a four‑channel, digitally controlled linear potentiometer. Each channel provides 64 resistive steps (63 segments) and three terminals (high‑side, wiper, low‑side). Standard resistance versions are 10 kΩ, 50 kΩ, and 100 kΩ, with custom resistor combinations also available.
The device can be controlled via either a 5‑wire shift‑register interface or a 2‑wire addressable I²C‑compatible interface, selectable with the PS pin. It is offered in 20‑pin DIP, SOIC, and TSSOP packages, operates from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, and is rated for an industrial temperature range of –40 °C to +85 °C.
