ISL29000 is a light-to-current optical sensor from Intersil. It features high sensitivity, low supply current and excellent output linearity. It is suitable for power saving control function in cell phones, notebook PCs, PDAs and other handheld applications.
The ISL29000 combines a photodiode and a current amplifier in a single monolithic IC, delivering an output current directly proportional to incident light intensity. Housed in a clear plastic ODFN package, it operates from 2.5 V to 5.5 V and is RoHS‑compliant.
Typical applications include mobile phones, PDAs, digital cameras and other handheld devices where power‑saving light sensing is required. The datasheet provides pin definitions, electrical specifications, recommended PCB layout, and example circuits for automatic or manual brightness control.
