ATMEL 4-megabit 2.7-volt Only Serial Firmware DataFlash Memory AT26F004 Manual

AT26F004 is a serial interface Flash memory device produced by ATMEL company. It is suitable for a wide variety of high-volume consumer applications in which program code is shadowed from flash memory into embedded or external RAM for execution. The flexible erase architecture of the AT26F004, with its erase granularity as small as 4 Kbytes, makes it ideal for data storage as well, eliminating the need for a separate storage device in data storage applications.

About this manual

The AT26F004 serial DataFlash memory is designed for high‑volume consumer applications where code is shadowed from Flash to RAM and for data storage without separate EEPROMs. Its flexible erase architecture with 4 KB, 32 KB and 64 KB block sizes maximizes memory efficiency for both code and data segments.

Key features include a 33 MHz maximum SPI clock, 7 mA active read current, 15 pA deep‑power‑down current, 100 k program/erase cycles, 20‑year data retention, and RoHS‑compliant 8‑lead SOIC or MLF packages. The device supports SPI modes 0 and 3 and provides individual sector protection.
