MAX8563/MAX8564/MAX8564A are ultra-low-output dual and triple LDO controllers that allow flexible and inexpensive point-of-load voltage conversion in motherboards, desknotes, notebooks, and other applications.
The MAX8563/MAX8564/MAX8564A series provides ultra‑low‑output voltage regulation for motherboards, notebooks, graphics cards and other point‑of‑load applications. Each controller includes a 0.5 V reference with ±1 % accuracy, independent enable pins, and a power‑good (POK) signal for sequencing.
Key features include adjustable output ranges (0.5 V‑3.3 V at 12 V VDD, 0.5 V‑1.8 V at 5 V VDD), soft‑short protection via an undervoltage comparator, and overload shutdown when the output falls below 60 % of the set voltage. The MAX8563 is offered in a 16‑pin QSOP package, while the MAX8564 and MAX8564A use a 10‑pin µMAX package.
| Reference voltage | 0.5 V |
|---|---|
| Output voltage range (VDD = 12 V) | 0.5 V – 3.3 V |
| Number of outputs | MAX8563: 3, MAX8564/MAX8564A: 2 |
| Package type | MAX8563: 16‑pin QSOP, MAX8564/8564A: 10‑pin µMAX |
| POK threshold (typical) | 425 mV – 455 mV |
The devices use a 0.5 V reference voltage.
The MAX8563 provides three independent output channels.
Both are supplied in a 10‑pin µMAX package.
