This document describes the features and characteristics of Silicon Storage Technology's product, including the ATA/IDE bus interface, flash media interface, low power operation, and data protection.
The SST55LD019M ATA Flash Disk Controller is a high‑performance interface that translates ATA/IDE bus signals to NAND flash memory accesses. It supports both Multi‑Level Cell (MLC) and high‑density Single‑Level Cell (SLC) flash media and includes an embedded flash file system with wear‑leveling and ECC.
The device operates from a 3.3 V core with optional 5 V host interface, offers multiple package options (100‑lead TQFP, 84‑ball TFBGA, 85‑ball VFBGA), and is qualified for commercial (0 °C‑70 °C) and industrial (‑40 °C‑+85 °C) temperature ranges.
| Host interface width | 8‑ or 16‑bit |
|---|---|
| Supported ATA/IDE modes | PIO Mode‑4, Multi‑word DMA Mode‑2 |
| Maximum read/write speed | 10 MB/sec |
| Power consumption (active mode) | 25 mA @3.3 V, 35 mA @5.0 V (typical) |
| Power consumption (sleep mode) | 40 µA @3.3 V, 50 µA @5.0 V (typical) |
| Operating temperature range | Commercial 0 °C‑70 °C, Industrial ‑40 °C‑+85 °C |
| Package options | 100‑lead TQFP (16 mm×16 mm), 84‑ball TFBGA (9 mm×9 mm), 85‑ball VFBGA (6 mm×6 mm) |
| ECC capability | Corrects up to 3 random 12‑bit symbol errors per 512‑byte sector |
The controller supports up to 10 MB per second for both sustained read and write operations.
Commercial operation is rated from 0 °C to 70 °C, while industrial operation covers –40 °C to +85 °C.
The device is offered in a 100‑lead TQFP (16 mm × 16 mm), an 84‑ball TFBGA (9 mm × 9 mm), and an 85‑ball VFBGA (6 mm × 6 mm).
