This document introduces the requirements for a specific protective box for outdoor installation of the encoder/decoder, as well as the requirements for various cables when connecting external devices and grounding the device. In the process of installing the encoder/decoder, please read this manual carefully to avoid possible equipment damage and personal injury.
This guide provides detailed instructions for installing H3C 1U video encoders in outdoor environments. It explains the required protective enclosure specifications, cable types, lengths, and connection procedures for RS485, video, audio, and alarm lines.
The document also covers grounding methods for both DC and AC powered devices, including options when a grounding bus is unavailable. Technical support contacts and reference material sources are listed at the end. This manual is written in Chinese.
| RS485 cable maximum length (9600 bps) | 900 m |
|---|---|
| RS485 cable characteristic impedance | 90 Ω–150 Ω |
| Grounding line impedance | < 5 Ω |
| BNC video cable (75‑5) maximum length | 200 m |
| Audio cable recommended maximum length | 100 m |
The enclosure must meet IP21 protection and be level‑1 three‑proof (anti‑mold, anti‑moisture, anti‑corrosion).
Use UL‑certified twisted‑pair cable meeting UL2464/UL20276 or Category 3+ with 22‑28 AWG conductors and 90‑150 Ω impedance.
Ground the device via the PE line of the AC power supply.
The 75‑5 BNC video cable should not exceed 200 m to maintain image quality.
