About this manual

The LM1882/LM1882‑R are 20‑pin TTL‑compatible devices that generate horizontal, vertical and composite sync and blank signals for televisions and monitors. All pulse widths are fully programmable, supporting both interlaced and non‑interlaced modes, with optional equalization and serration pulses.

The device includes 13 inputs and 5 outputs, a full set of programmable registers, and supports automatic or manual address loading. It can be mask‑programmed for default RS‑170/NTSC timing or customized via the status and data registers.

Frequently asked questions

What does the CLEAR pin do?

When HIGH, the CLEAR pin asynchronously initializes the device, resetting all registers to their mask‑programmed values and clearing counters.

Can the device generate equalization and serration pulses?

Yes, equalization and serration pulses can be introduced into the composite sync signal and are programmable via registers 9 and 10.
