About this manual

The ADV7180 video decoder converts analog baseband television signals (composite, S‑video, component) from NTSC, PAL and SECAM standards into a digital 8‑bit ITU‑R BT.656 output. It features a 10‑bit ADC with 4× oversampling for CVBS and 2× for Y/C and YPrPb modes, and provides timing signals (HS, VS, FIELD) for downstream video ASICs.

Key features include adaptive digital line length tracking, macrovision copy‑protection detection, a 5‑line comb filter, VBI data slicer with teletext support, four general‑purpose outputs, and a 2‑wire I²C‑compatible serial interface. The device is offered in a 40‑lead LFCSP and a 64‑lead LQFP package for space‑constrained or higher‑pin‑count applications.
