This application note describes how to connect a SC16C554 or a SC16C654 to an ISA bus.
The document describes the hardware interface for connecting the SC16C554, SC16C554B, SC16C654 and SC16C654B UART devices to an ISA bus. It details the address ranges for each of the four UART channels and the required jumpers for channel enable and interrupt selection.
A disclaimer notes that the products are not intended for life‑support equipment, and licensing, patent and trademark information are provided at the end of the note. This manual is written in Chinese.
| Channel A address range | 0x3F8‑0x3F0 |
|---|---|
| Channel B address range | 0x2F8‑0x2F0 |
| Channel C address range | 0x3E8‑0x3E0 |
| Channel D address range | 0x2E8‑0x2E0 |
| Supported IRQs | IRQ3, IRQ4, IRQ5, IRQ6, IRQ7 |
| Channel enable method | Install jumper on JP1; otherwise disabled by pull‑up resistors R1‑R4 |
The hardware allows selection of IRQ3, IRQ4, IRQ5, IRQ6, or IRQ7 via jumpers JP2‑JP5.
A channel is enabled by installing a jumper on JP1; without the jumper the channel stays disabled by pull‑up resistors R1‑R4.
Channel A: 0x3F8‑0x3F0, Channel B: 0x2F8‑0x2F0, Channel C: 0x3E8‑0x3E0, Channel D: 0x2E8‑0x2E0.
