Faulhaber provides two main encoder types—optical and electromagnetic—that can be mounted independently or integrated directly with its DC micro‑motors. The IE2 series encoders are built into the motor housing, delivering high‑resolution position feedback while keeping the overall size minimal.
Key features include a compact structure, high resolution (up to 2048 L/R), low power consumption, non‑collector open‑collector output compatible with CMOS/TTL logic, and resistance to dust, pollution and light.
