Siemens CU240B/E-2 Error F30611: SI P2: Defect in a monitoring channel

Control unit · taken from the manufacturer’s manual, pages cited

Fault codeF30611

Processor 2 detected a monitoring channel defect, causing it to trigger STOP A and resulting in fault F30600. The manual's first action is: “As a consequence of this fault, fault F30600 (SI P2: STOP A initiated) is output.”

What F30611 means

SI P2: Defect in a monitoring channel p. 721

Common causes

  • The drive-integrated "Safety Integrated" function on processor 2 has detected a fault in the crosswise data comparison between the two monitoring channels and has initiated a STOP F. p. 721
  • Fault value (r0949, decimal interpretation): 0: Stop request from processor 1. p. 721
  • 2: SI enable safety functions (p9601, p9801). Crosswise data comparison is only carried out for the supported bits. p. 721
  • 8: SI PROFIsafe address (p9610, p9810). p. 721
  • 1000: Watchdog timer has expired. Within a time of approx. 5 x p9850, too many switching operations have occurred at F-DI, or STO (also as subsequent response) was initiated too frequently via PROFIsafe. p. 721
  • 2000: Status of the STO selection for both monitoring channels are different. p. 721
  • 6000 ... 6999: Error in the PROFIsafe control. p. 721

What to do

  1. As a consequence of this fault, fault F30600 (SI P2: STOP A initiated) is output. p. 721
  2. 1 ... 999: Number in the cross-checked data that resulted in this fault. This number is also displayed in r9795. p. 721
  3. 3: SI F-DI changeover tolerance time (p9650, p9850). p. 721
  4. 9: SI debounce time for STO (p9651, p9851). p. 721
  5. 1001, 1002: Initialization error, change timer / check timer. p. 721
  6. 2001: Feedback of the safe pulse suppression on the two monitoring channels are different. p. 721
  7. For these fault values, the failsafe control signals (failsafe values) are transferred to the safety functions. The significance of the individual message values is described in safety message C01711. p. 721
  8. Remedy: Re fault values 1 ... 999 described as "Cause": - check the cross-checked data that resulted in a STOP F. - carry out a POWER ON (power off/on). p. 721
  9. For fault value = 1000: - check the wiring of the F-DI (contact problems). - PROFIsafe: Remove contact problems/fauls at the PROFIbus master/PROFINET controller. Re fault value = 1001, 1002: - carry out a POWER ON (power off/on). p. 721
  10. Re fault value = 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005: - check the tolerance time F-DI changeover and if required, increase the value (p9650/p9850). - check the wiring of the F-DI (contact problems). p. 721
  11. - check the causes of the STO selection in r9772. When the SI Motion functions are active (p9501 = 1), STO can also be selected using these functions. p. 721
  12. Re fault value = 6000 ... 6999: - Refer to the description of the message values in safety message C01711. - Re fault values that are described as "Cause": - carry out a POWER ON (power off/on). p. 721
  13. - contact the Hotline - replace Control Unit. p. 721
  14. Note: F-DI: Failsafe Digital Input STO: Safe Torque Off p. 721
