The product is in the classic phase of the ABB drives lifecycle plan and is planned to remain in this phase until end of year 2020. In this phase, ABB will offer full support and maintenance services for the product, including spare part and repair services, training services, technical support and on-site support services, preventive maintenance services, and upgrade services.

The new ACS 800 model of ABB's electromagnetic stirrer brings good savings for Ovako Bar Oy Ab's ladle furnace. The old YOQD driver needed to be replaced with ABB's modern ACS 800 driver due to difficulty in obtaining necessary spare parts. The main reason for this investment was to ensure uninterrupted production, as all production in Ovako Imatra relies on this stirrer. All failures in the old driver would reduce or stop production. The new ACS 800 was commissioned in 2006. The dismounting of the old driver and installation of the new ACS 800 posed a great challenge, but thanks to a good relationship and cooperation between ABB and Ovako Imatra, it was successfully completed.
