MAXIM MAX2065 handbook
The MAX2065 high-linearity, analog/digital variable-gain amplifier (VGA) is designed to operate in the 50MHz to 1000MHz frequency range with two independent attenuators (see the Typical Application Circuit). The digital attenuator is controlled as a slave peripheral using either the SPI-compatible interface or a parallel bus with 31dB total adjustment range in 1dB steps. An added feature allows “rapid-fire” gain selection between each of four steps, preprogrammed by the user through the SPI-compatible interface. The 2-pin control allows the user to quickly access any one of four customized attenuation states without reprogramming the SPI bus. The analog attenuator is controlled using an external voltage or through the SPI-compatible interface using an on-chip 8-bit DAC. Because each of the three stages has its own RF input and RF output, this component can be configured to either optimize NF (amplifier configured first), OIP3 (amplifier last), or a compromise of NF and OIP3. The device’s performance features include 22dB amplifier gain (amplifier only), 6.5dB NF at maximum gain (includes attenuator insertion losses), and a high OIP3 level of +42dBm. Each of these features makes the MAX2065 an ideal VGA for numerous receiver and transmitter applications. In addition, the MAX2065 operates from a single +5V supply with full performance, or a single +3.3V supply with slightly reduced performance, and has an adjustable bias to trade current consumption.

Each attenuator includes a control circuit that provides 22dB of attenuation range with a linear control slope of 10dB/V. Both attenuators share a common analog control and can be cascaded together to yield 44dB of total dynamic range, with a combined linear control slope of 20dB/V. The IC is a monolithic device designed on one of Maxim’s proprietary SiGe BiCMOS processes. The device operates from a single +5.0V supply and is available in a compact, 36-pin thin QFN package.

MAXIM MAX2064 Manual
This document is an introduction to MAX2064, a high-linearity, serial/analog-controlled VGA operating in the 50MHz to 1000MHz frequency range. This component can be configured to either optimize noise figure (NF) (amplifier configured first) or OIP3 (amplifier last). The device's performance features include 24dB amplifier gain (amplifier only), 4.4dB NF at maximum gain (includes attenuator insertion losses), and a high OIP3 level of +41dBm. Each of these features makes the device an ideal VGA for multipath receiver and transmitter applications. In addition, the device operates from a single +5V supply with full performance, or a +3.3V supply for an enhanced power-savings mode with lower performance. The device is available in a compact 48-pin TQFN package (7mm x 7mm) with an exposed pad. Electrical performance is guaranteed over the extended temperature range, from TC = -40°C to +85°C.

MAXIM MAX2130 handbook
The MAX2130 is a low-noise dual-output amplifier from Maxim for TV tuner applications. It integrates functions typically achieved with discrete components into the space-saving 8-pin µMAX-EP package. The device provides a gain of +15dB with a noise figure less than 3.2dB over the 44MHz to 878MHz frequency range. The MAX2130 features an externally adjustable bias control, set with a single resistor, that allows the user to meet minimum linearity requirements while reducing current consumption. The device operates from a +5V single supply and only requires 93mA of supply current when nominally biased.

MAXIM MAX2650 Manual
The MAX2650 is a low-noise amplifier for use from DC to microwave frequencies. Operating from a single +5V supply, it has a flat gain response to 900MHz. The MAX2650's low noise figure and high drive capability make it ideal for a variety of transmit, receive, and buffer applications.
MAXIM MAX2630 MAX2633 Manual
The MAX2630/MAX2631/MAX2632/MAX2633 are low-voltage, low-noise amplifiers for use from VHF to microwave frequencies. Operating from a single +2.7V to +5.5V supply, these devices have a flat gain response to 900MHz. Their low noise figure and low supply current make them ideal for receive, buffer, and transmit IF applications. The MAX2630/MAX2631 are biased internally, eliminating the need for external bias resistors or inductors. The MAX2632/MAX2633 have a user-selectable supply current, which can be adjusted by adding a single external resistor. This allows customized output power and gain according to specific applications requirements. The MAX2631/MAX2633 feature a shutdown pin that allows them to be powered down to less than 1µA supply current. Aside from a single bias resistor required for the MAX2632/MAX2633, the only external components needed for this family of amplifiers are input and output blocking capacitors and a VCC bypass capacitor. The MAX2630 comes in a 4-pin SOT143 package, requiring minimal board space. The MAX2631/MAX2632 come in small 5-pin SOT23 packages. The MAX2633 comes in a 6-pin SOT23 package.
MAXIM MAX2232/MAX2233 handbook
MAX2232/MAX2233 are low-voltage, silicon RF power amplifiers (PAs) designed for use in the 900MHz ISM band. They operate from a single +2.7V to +5.5V supply, allowing them to be powered directly from a 3-cell NiCd or a 1-cell Lithium-Ion battery. The devices typically deliver 250mW (+24dBm) of output power at 915MHz from a single +3.6V supply, or 150mW (+22dBm) from a single +2.7V supply. At +24dBm out- put power, power-added efficiency (PAE) is 44%. The MAX2232/MAX2233 provide 24dB of gain, which is adjustable over a continuous 24dB span via the analog gain-control pin of the MAX2232 or in two 10dB steps via the 2-bit programmable gain-control DAC of the MAX2233. An external capacitor sets the RF output power envelope ramp time, reducing spurious emis- sions during power-up and power-down by providing a gradual change in output power (MAX2232). The MAX2232/MAX2233 feature a low-power shutdown mode, which typically draws less than 1µA of supply current, saving power during “idle slots” in time-division multiple-access (TDMA) systems. The ∆VSWR of the RF input in shutdown mode relative to normal operation is 1.2:1. The devices also feature a thermal shutdown function, enabling the PA to protect itself from excessive temperature conditions that could damage the IC. A capacitor to ground limits thermal cycling by setting a thermal shutdown timeout period. The MAX2232/MAX2233 are available in a space-sav- ing, thermally enhanced 16-pin power-QSOP (PQSOP) package.
