  • MAXIM MAX1947 handbook

The MAX1947 is a compact, high-efficiency, step-up DC-DC converter that regulates output voltages from 1.8V to 3.3V to power µP/DSP cores, memory, and I/O rails in 1- and 2-cell alkaline/NiMH/NiCd battery-powered systems. It features an internal 800mA switch and synchronous rectifier to achieve up to 94% efficiency and to eliminate the need for an external Schottky diode. High-frequency switching (up to 2MHz) results in low ripple and small external components, while automatic pulse skipping at light loads reduces supply current to just 70µA for extended battery life. Maxim’s proprietary True Shutdown™ reduces supply current to just 2µA and fully discharges the output to ground. The convert- er is offered in fixed-output voltages of 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.0V, and 3.3V, requiring no feedback or compensation net- work. A 75ms RESET output flag provides for power-on reset (POR) and undervoltage detection. The MAX1947 is available in a space-saving 8-pin TDFN package.

  • MAXIM MAX8600/MAX8601 handbook

The MAX8600/MAX8601 single-/dual-input linear battery chargers safely charge single-cell Li+ batteries. The charging rate is optimized to accommodate the thermal characteristics of a given application. There is no need to reduce the maximum charge current or worst-case charger power dissipation. Charging is optimized for Li+ cells using a control algorithm that includes low-battery precharging, voltage and current-limited fast-charging, and top-off charging, while continuously monitoring the battery for overvoltage, over/undertemperature, and charging time. The charger timeout protection is programmable. The charger status is indicated by three open-drain outputs. The MAX8601 automatically selects between either a USB or AC adapter input source. The AC adapter charge current is programmable, while USB charge current is set not to exceed either 100mA or 500mA, depending on the USEL input. The MAX8600 is a single-input charger with no USB source input. The MAX8600/MAX8601 are available in the tiny 3mm x 3mm power-enhanced TDFN package.

  • MAXIM MAX4358 Manual

The MAX4358 is a 32 ✕ 16 highly integrated video crosspoint switch matrix with input and output buffers and On-Screen Display (OSD) Insertion. This device operates from dual ±3V to ±5V supplies or from a sin- gle +5V supply. Digital logic is supplied from an inde- pendent single +2.7V to +5.5V supply. Individual outputs can be switched between an input video signal source and OSD information through an internal, dedi- cated fast 2:1 mux (40ns switching times) located before the output buffer. All inputs and outputs are buffered, with all outputs able to drive standard 75Ω reverse-terminated video loads. The switch matrix configuration and output buffer gain are programmed through an SPI/QSPI™-compatible, three-wire serial interface and initialized with a single update signal. The unique serial interface operates in two modes facilitating both fast updates and initializa- tion. On power-up, all outputs are initialized in the dis- abled state to avoid output conflicts in large-array configurations. Superior flexibility, high integration, and space-saving packaging make this nonblocking switch matrix ideal for routing video signals in security and video-on- demand systems. The MAX4358 is available in a 144-pin TQFP package and specified over an extended -40°C to +85°C tem- perature range. The MAX4358 evaluation kit is available to speed designs.

  • MAXIM MAX873/MAX875/MAX876 handbook

The MAX873/MAX875/MAX876 precision 2.5V, 5V, and 10V references offer excellent accuracy and very low power consumption. Extremely low temperature drift combined with excellent line and load regulation permit stable operation over a wide range of electrical and environmental conditions. Operation for the MAX873 is guaranteed with a +4.5V supply, making the part ideal in systems running from a +5V ±10% supply. Low 10Hz to 1kHz noise—typically 3.8µVRMS, 9µVRMS, and 18µVRMS, respectively, for the MAX873, MAX875, MAX876—make the parts suitable for 12-bit data-acquisition systems. A TRIM pin facilitates adjustment of the reference voltage over a ±6% range, using only a 100kΩ potentiometer. A voltage output proportional to temperature provides a source for temperature compensation circuits, temperature warning circuits, and other applications.

  • MAXIM MAX5100 Manual

The MAX5100 is a parallel-input, voltage-output, quad 8-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that operates from a single +2.7V to +5.5V supply. It comes in a space-saving 20-pin TSSOP package. The internal precision buffers swing Rail-to-Rail®, and the reference input range includes both ground and the positive rail. All four DACs share a common reference input. The MAX5100 features double-buffered logic inputs, with four 8-bit buffer registers followed by four 8-bit DAC registers. This ensures that the DAC outputs do not change during the write operation. An asynchronous control pin, LDAC, allows for simultaneous updating of the DAC registers. The MAX5100 also includes a shutdown mode that reduces current to 1nA and a power-on reset mode that resets all registers to code 00 hex on power-up. Applications for the MAX5100 include digital gain and offset adjustments, programmable attenuators, portable instruments, and power-amplifier bias control.

  • MAXIM MAX1270/MAX1271 handbook

The MAX1270/MAX1271 are multirange, 12-bit data-acquisition systems (DAS) that require only a single +5V supply for operation. These systems provide eight analog input channels that are independently software programmable for a variety of ranges: ±10V, ±5V, 0 to +10V, 0 to +5V for the MAX1270; ±VREF, ±VREF/2, 0 to VREF, 0 to VREF/2 for the MAX1271. This range switching increases the effective dynamic range to 14 bits and provides the flexibility to interface 4-20mA, ±12V, and ±15V powered sensors directly to a single +5V system. In addition, these converters are fault protected to ±16.5V. A fault condition on any channel will not affect the conversion result of the selected channel. Other features include a 5MHz bandwidth track/hold, software-selectable internal/external clock, 110ksps throughput rate, and internal 4.096V or external reference operation. The MAX1270/MAX1271 serial interface directly connects to SPI™/QSPI™ and MICROWIRE™ devices without external logic. A hardware shutdown input (SHDN) and two software-programmable power-down modes, standby (STBYPD) or full power-down (FULLPD), are provided for low-cur- rent shutdown between conversions. In standby mode, the reference buffer remains active, eliminating startup delays. The MAX1270/MAX1271 are available in 24-pin narrow PDIP or space-saving 28-pin SSOP packages.
