MAXIM MAX1607 handbook
The MAX1607 is a current-limited 60mΩ switch with built-in fault blanking. Its accurate, preset 0.7A to 1.0A current limit makes it ideal for USB applications. Its low quiescent supply current (14µA) and standby current (1µA) conserve battery power in portable applications. The MAX1607 operates with inputs from +2.7V to +5.5V, making it ideal for both 3V and 5V systems. An overcurrent signal (OC) notifies the microprocessor that the internal current limit has been reached. A 10ms overcurrent-blanking feature allows momentary faults (such as those caused when hot-swapping into a capacitive load) to be ignored, thus preventing false alarms to the host system. This blanking also prevents an OC signal from being issued when the device is powering up. The MAX1607 has several safety features to ensure that the USB port is protected. Built-in thermal-overload pro- tection limits power dissipation and junction tempera- ture. The device also has accurate internal current- limiting circuitry to protect the input supply against overload. The MAX1607 is a pin-compatible upgrade to Texas Instruments’ TPS2014, TPS2015, and TPS2041 for USB applications. The same die is available in a space-saving 10-pin µMAX package (MAX1693) and can be used for next-generation designs. The MAX1694 is similar to the MAX1693, but it has a built-in latch that turns off the power switch in case of a long-term short-circuit condi- tion.
MAXIM MAX1812 handbook
The MAX1812 is a dual current-limited switch specifically made for USB applications. Each channel is guaranteed to supply 500mA and meets USB specifications. The MAX1812’s low quiescent supply current (45µA) and shutdown current (3µA) conserve battery power in portable applications. The MAX1812 has multiple safety features to ensure that the USB port is protected. Built-in thermal-overload protection limits power dissipation and junction temperature. The device also has accurate internal current-limiting circuitry to protect the input supply against both overload and short-circuit conditions. Independent fault signals (FAULTA and FAULTB) notify the microprocessor when a thermal-overload, current limit, undervoltage lockout, or short-circuit fault occurs. A 20ms fault-blanking feature enables the circuit to ignore momentary faults, such as those caused when hot-swapping a capacitive load, thereby preventing false alarms to the host system. The MAX1812 is available in a space-saving 10-pin µMAX package. For single versions of this device, refer to the MAX1693, MAX1694, and MAX1607 data sheets.
MAXIM MAX3093E/MAX3094E handbook
The MAX3093E/MAX3094E are rugged, low-power, quad, RS-422/RS-485 receivers featuring electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection for use in harsh environments. All receiver inputs are protected to ±15kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Air-Gap Discharge, ±8kV using IEC 1000-4-2 Contact Discharge, and ±15kV using the Human Body Model. The MAX3093E operates from a +5V supply, while the MAX3094E operates from a +3.3V supply. Receiver propagation delays are guaranteed to within ±8ns of a predetermined value, thereby ensuring device-to-device matching across production lots. The devices feature a 1nA low-power shutdown mode in which the receiver outputs are high impedance. When active, these receivers have a fail-safe feature that guarantees a logic-high output if the input is open circuit. They also have a quarter-unit-load input impedance that allows 128 receivers on a bus. The MAX3093E/MAX3094E are pin-compatible, low-power upgrades to the industry-standard ’34C86. They are available in space-saving TSSOP, narrow SO, and PDIP packages.
MAXIM MAX6715 MAX6729 handbook
The MAX6715–MAX6729 are ultra-low-voltage microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits designed to monitor two or three system power-supply voltages. These devices assert a system reset if any monitored supply falls below its factory-trimmed or adjustable threshold and maintain reset for a minimum timeout period after all supplies rise above their thresholds. The integrated dual/triple supervisory circuits significantly improve system reliability and reduce size compared to separate ICs or discrete components. These devices monitor primary supply voltages (VCC1) from 1.8V to 5.0V and secondary supply voltages (VCC2) from 0.9V to 3.3V with factory-trimmed reset threshold voltage options (see Reset Voltage Threshold Suffix Guide). An externally adjustable RSTIN input option allows customers to monitor a third supply voltage down to 0.62V. These devices are guaranteed to be in the correct reset output logic state when either VCC1 or VCC2 remains greater than 0.8V. A variety of push-pull or open-drain reset outputs along with watchdog input, manual reset input, and power-fail input/output features are available (see Selector Guide). Select reset timeout periods from 1.1ms to 1120ms (min) (see Reset Timeout Period Suffix Guide). The MAX6715–MAX6729 are available in small 5, 6, and 8-pin SOT23 packages and operate over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.

MAXIM DS1805 Addressable Digital Potentiometer handbook
The DS1805 addressable digital potentiometer contains a single 256-position digitally controlled potentiometer. Device control is achieved through a 2-wire serial inter- face. Device addressing is provided through three address inputs that allow up to eight devices on a sin- gle 2-wire bus. The exact wiper position of the poten- tiometer can be written or read. The DS1805 is available in 16-pin SO and 14-pin TSSOP packages. The device is available in three standard resistance val- ues: 10kΩ, 50kΩ, and 100kΩ. The DS1805 is specified over the industrial temperature range. The DS1805 provides a low-cost alternative for designs based on the DS1803, but require only a single potentiometer. MAXIM MAX3238E/MAX3248E† handbook
The MAX3238E/MAX3248E transceivers use Maxim’s revolutionary AutoShutdown Plus™ feature to achieve 10nA supply current. These devices shut down the on-board power supply and drivers when they do not sense a valid signal transition on either the receiver or transmit- ter inputs. This occurs if the RS-232 cable is disconnect- ed or if the transmitters of the connected peripheral are turned off. The devices turn on again when a valid transi- tion is applied to any RS-232 receiver or transmitter input. AutoShutdown Plus automatically achieves this power savings through its on-board circuitry, as no changes are required to the existing BIOS or operating system. All RS-232 inputs and outputs, as well as the logic I/O pins, have enhanced ESD protection to ±15kV. The addi- tional ESD protection on the logic I/O pins makes the MAX3238E/MAX3248E ideal for cell phone data cable applications because it eliminates the need for costly external TransZorb™ or protection schemes. The MAX3238E/MAX3248E contain five drivers and three receivers and are 3V-powered EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 communication interfaces intended for cell phones, data cables, and modem applications. A proprietary, high-effi- ciency, dual charge-pump power supply and a low- dropout transmitter combine to deliver true RS-232 performance from a single +3.0V to +5.5V supply. A guaranteed data rate of 250kbps pro
