The PT5100 modules are a series of economical, easy-to-use 1-A positive step-down, Integrated Switching Regulators (ISRs). These ISRs are compatible with most TO-220 style linear regulators, and when employed as a linear replacement, provide significant benefits in both efficiency and power dissipation. They are recommended for use in a wide variety of on-board power regulation applications. These include computer, data storage, industrial controls, and battery powered equipment. Modules are laser-trimmed for optimal output voltage accuracy, and exhibit excellent line and load regulation. The PT5100 also features output current limiting and thermal shutdown protection.

The PT6980 series is a dual output integrated switching regulator (ISR) designed specifically to power mixed signal ICs. Operating from a 12-V input bus, the dual output provides power for both the digital I/O logic and a DSP core from a single module. Both output voltages are internally sequenced during power-up and power-down to comply with the requirements of the latest DSP chips. Each output is inde- pendently adjustable or can be set to at least one alternative bus voltage with a simple pin-strap. The modules are made available in a space-saving solderable case. The REF29xx's small size and low power consumption (50µA max) make it ideal for portable and battery-powered applications.
