Agilent Chromatography of Nitrogen-Containing Compounds Without Triethylamine
This work demonstrates that Eclipse Plus C18 can be used for high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) separation of difficult to separate nitrogen-containing compounds without the use of triethylamine (TEA), which provides a new method for separating such compounds. In addition, the low end-group activity of Eclipse Plus C18 makes it a preferred HPLC column for analysis of pharmaceuticals and other amine-containing compounds.

Agilent The Analysis of Carbonate Associated Sulfur by 7500ce ORS-ICP-MS
This report outlines preliminary methodology and results for the analysis of four samples for all three isotopes of sulfur in carbonate matrices using the 7500ce Octopole Reaction System (ORS) with xenon as the cell gas. Xenon was used to react with oxygen in order to attenuate the O2-derived polyatomic interferences at masses 32, 33, and 34. Consequently, each sulfur isotope was analyzed on-mass, leading to highly reproducible results.

Agilent Technologies Fast identification of main drug metabolites by quadruple time-of-flight LC/MS
This Application Note presents a workflow for the identification of main drug metabolites by sample comparison as well as by structure elucidation of the identified metabolites based on accurate MS and MS/MS data acquired with a quadrupole time-of-flight (Q-TOF) LC/MS. In pharmaceutical drug development the main metabolites of a new drug candidate must be identified as fast as possible and with high confidence. Software for this task is described, which analyzes the metabolized drug samples and visualizes the differences with non- metabolized drug samples for manual investigation. The structures of possible metabolites are elucidated by examination of the original highly-accurate Q-TOF mass data based on the differences between the metabolized and non-metabolized drug samples.
