FTDI EVAL232R FT232RL USB to RS232 Evaluation Module Incorporating Clock Generator Output FTDIChip-ID Security Dongle
The EVAL232R evaluation board provides a compact USB‑to‑RS232 converter based on the FT232RL IC. It integrates the USB transceiver, EEPROM, clock generator (6 MHz, 12 MHz, 24 MHz, 48 MHz) and level converters on a 61 mm × 32 mm PCB, and includes a unique FTDIChip‑ID for security dongle applications.
The module operates from 3.3 V to 5.25 V, supports data rates from 300 baud up to 1 Megabaud, and works over an extended temperature range of –40 °C to +85 °C. It is bus‑powered from USB and complies with RoHS and EU directives.
