Operations manual for YSI Model 5000 and 5100 dissolved oxygen and temperature meters, covering setup, calibration, operation, and maintenance.
This manual provides operating instructions for the YSI Model 5000 and Model 5100 dissolved oxygen and temperature meters. The Model 5000 is a menu-driven, microprocessor-based instrument designed for laboratory measurements of dissolved oxygen and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD). It features a large graphical LCD screen, internal memory for 100 data points, and compatibility with existing YSI dissolved oxygen probes via the Model 5011 adapter. The instrument includes an 8-pin DIN connector to power the optional Model 5010 self-stirring BOD probe, eliminating the need for a separate power cable for the probe. Data can be transferred directly to a computer via an RS232 port or used with the YSI BOD Analyst software.
The Model 5100 includes all the functionality of the Model 5000 plus additional automated features. It features built-in application software for calculating Oxygen Uptake Rate (OUR) and Specific Oxygen Uptake Rate (SOUR), aiding in compliance with USEPA 503 regulations. The Model 5100 also includes an internal barometer for automatic pressure compensation, a membrane integrity check feature, and an optional barcode reader for large-volume laboratories. Both models support software updates via computer and include an RS232 port for electronic data capture. This manual is written in Spanish.
