The MCP3422/3/4 family are 18‑bit delta‑sigma ADCs with differential inputs, programmable gain, I2C interface and low‑power operation.
The MCP3422, MCP3423 and MCP3424 provide high‑resolution analog‑to‑digital conversion with up to 18‑bit resolution (3.75 SPS). They feature an on‑chip 2.048 V reference, programmable gain (×1, 2, 4, 8), and a two‑wire I²C interface that supports standard, fast and high‑speed modes. Devices operate from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply and consume as little as 0.3 µA in standby.
Typical applications include portable instrumentation, temperature measurement (RTD, thermistor, thermocouple), pressure/strain bridge sensing, electronic weighing scales, battery monitoring and factory automation. The family offers 2‑channel versions (MCP3422, MCP3423) and a 4‑channel version (MCP3424) in various SOIC, DFN and TSSOP packages. This manual is written in Chinese.
| Resolution (max) | 18 bits (3.75 SPS) |
|---|---|
| Supply Voltage | 2.7 V – 5.5 V |
| Typical Supply Current (continuous, VDD=3 V) | 135 µA |
| Reference Voltage | 2.048 V ± 0.05 % |
| Programmable Gain Options | ×1, ×2, ×4, ×8 |
| Number of Differential Input Channels | 2 (MCP3422/3423) or 4 (MCP3424) |
| Operating Temperature Range | -40 °C – +125 °C |
| I²C Address Options | Two external address pins, 8 possible addresses |
The MCP3422 and MCP3423 provide two differential input channels, while the MCP3424 provides four.
Both devices have two external address pins (Adr0 and Adr1) that allow eight possible I²C addresses.
The devices are specified to operate from –40 °C to +125 °C.
Typical supply current is 135 µA when VDD = 3 V and the device runs in continuous conversion mode.
