Technical data sheet for AR2A001 R2A Agar, a medium formulated for the heterotrophic plate count of treated potable water.
The AR2A001 R2A Agar is a sterile, light yellow medium formulated by Reasoner and Geldreich for the heterotrophic plate count of treated potable water. It is recommended for pour plate, spread plate, and membrane filter methods, supporting the growth of fast-growing and/or stressed bacteria found in treated water, especially under lower incubation temperatures and longer incubation periods. The medium contains ingredients such as Casamino acids, Yeast extract, Proteose peptone, D (+) Glucose anhydrous, Soluble starch, Di-potassium hydrogen phosphate, Magnesium sulfate, Sodium pyruvate, and Agar.
