About this manual

The document describes Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities across the Cisco Catalyst 6500, 4500, 3750, 3560 and 3550 switch families. All listed models support the IEEE 802.3af standard as well as Cisco's pre‑standard PoE, providing flexible power delivery for IP phones, wireless APs, cameras and other devices.

Catalyst switches use modular PoE sub‑card architectures (e.g., 96‑port 10/100 line cards and 48‑port 10/100/1000 line cards) that can supply up to 15.4 W per port, with configurable power levels down to 7.7 W. EtherSwitch HWIC modules also support both IEEE 802.3af and Cisco pre‑standard PoE, extending PoE functionality to router platforms. This manual is written in Chinese.
