About this manual

The LTC1418 is a 14‑bit successive‑approximation ADC that operates from a single 5 V supply (or ±5 V for bipolar mode). It offers both 14‑bit parallel and SPI/MICROWIRE‑compatible serial interfaces, making it easy to connect to micro‑processors or DSPs. The device includes an internal sample‑and‑hold, precision reference, and internal clock, allowing a compact design with minimal external components.

Key performance figures include a 200 kS/s maximum sampling rate, 81.5 dB signal‑to‑noise‑plus‑distortion ratio, and low total harmonic distortion (‑94 dB at 100 kHz). Power consumption is only 15 mW typical, and two power‑shutdown modes (Nap and Sleep) are selectable via the CS and SHDN pins for energy‑saving applications.
