This document is the user manual for dot matrix LCD display modules produced by Guangzhou Ruitong Technology Co., Ltd. It provides information on the external dimensions, pin descriptions, timing diagrams, internal structure, instruction specifications, and application examples for different models of dot matrix LCD display modules.
The character dot matrix LCD modules are designed for displaying alphanumeric characters and symbols. They support 4‑bit and 8‑bit data interfaces, offer 5×7 and 5×10 dot matrix modes, and include DDRAM, CGROM and CGRAM for custom characters (up to eight 5×8 patterns). The modules operate from a logic voltage of +4.3‑5.5 V and an LCD drive voltage of +3.0‑+10.0 V, with a typical operating temperature range of –20 °C to 75 °C.
The manual contains an overview, mechanical dimensions, pin descriptions, timing diagrams, internal block diagram, a full list of instruction codes, and application examples. It also provides electrical characteristics, LED backlight specifications, and example code snippets for reading and writing data. This manual is written in Chinese.
| Logic supply voltage (Vdd) | +4.3‑5.5 V |
|---|---|
| LCD drive voltage (Vdd‑Vp) | +3.0‑+10.0 V |
| Operating temperature | –20 °C to 75 °C |
| Supply current (excluding backlight) | 1.0 mA max |
| Viewing area | 38 mm × 16 mm |
| LED backlight forward voltage | 4.1‑4.3 V |
| LED backlight forward current | 60 mA |
The module operates from +4.3 V to +5.5 V for its logic circuitry.
Up to eight custom 5×8 dot characters can be stored in CGRAM.
The module automatically initializes to its default display state when the supply voltage goes above +4.5 V.
The LCD viewing area measures 38 mm by 16 mm.
