The L7980 is a 2A step-down switching regulator from STMicroelectronics. It features a wide input voltage range, adjustable output voltage, adjustable switching frequency, internal soft-start and enable functions, zero load current operation, overcurrent protection and thermal protection.
The L7980 is a step-down switching regulator designed to deliver up to 2 A of output current with an input voltage range of 4.5 V to 28 V. It features an internal 2.5 A power MOSFET, allowing for a minimum set of external components. The device includes an internal oscillator with a default switching frequency of 250 kHz, which can be externally adjusted up to 1 MHz.
