ANALOG DEVICES Hardware Accelerators Boost the Performance of Next-Generation SHARC Processors Manual

This paper introduces the hardware accelerators in the Analog Devices SHARC ADSP-2146x processor, which can implement widely used signal processing operations such as finite impulse response (FIR), infinite impulse response (IIR), and fast Fourier transform (FFT). These accelerators offload the core processor and have the potential to more than double the computational throughput of the processor. The paper uses their application in next-generation audio systems as an example to illustrate the accelerators.
