The Philips PDI1394L40 is an integrated circuit designed as a Full Duplex 1394 Audio/Video (AV) Link Layer Controller. It features compliance with the IEEE 1394a-2000 standard and includes two embedded AV layer interfaces capable of accommodating various MPEG-2 and DVC codecs according to the IEC 61883 International Standard.
The device operates with a single 3.3 V supply voltage and supports both 400/200/100 Mbps physical layer devices. It includes a 12K byte fully programmable FIFO pool for isochronous and asynchronous data, as well as flexible host interface options supporting 8-bit and 16-bit wide data paths.
