About this manual

The Philips Semiconductors PDI1394P11 is an IEEE 1394-1995 compliant Physical Layer interface designed to implement a three-port node in a cable-based network. It provides the analog physical layer functions required for data transmission and reception, managing bus initialization and arbitration cycles while supporting transfer rates of up to 200 Mb/s.

The device interfaces with any standard Link Layer Controller compatible with both 3V and 5V supplies. Available in a 64-pin plastic LQFP package, the PDI1394P11 features three cable interface ports with 5V tolerant I/Os and utilizes an internal Phase Locked Loop (PLL) for clock generation.
