The Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) AM2075 is a serial HDLC data communication circuit designed specifically for use in variable data rate PCM systems. It features four independent HDLC channels with 64-byte FIFO storage per channel and direction, capable of handling basic HDLC functions such as flag detection/generation, zero deletion/insertion, CRC checking, and abort checks.
The device supports both single connection and quad connection modes and can interface via either a JOM or PCM interface. It includes programmable time slots and channel data rates up to 4 Mb/s, along with sophisticated switching functions and automatic contention resolution between packet data from different sources.
