It is time to backwash when the pressure gauge reading is 6-8 lbs. higher than the initial clean pressure.
Only simple tools such as a screwdriver and wrenches, plus pipe sealant for plastic adapters, are required.
Run the pump for at least 1 minute during the initial backwash to remove impurities or fine sand particles.
