This document describes the features and characteristics of the Samson C03 multi-pattern, studio condenser microphone, including dual large 19mm ultra-thin diaphragm capsules that faithfully reproduce a variety of sound sources, and three pickup patterns (cardioid, omni, and figure-8). The product has extended frequency response and fast transient response, ensuring linear characteristics from bottom to top.
The Samson C03 is a multi-pattern studio condenser microphone featuring dual 19mm ultra thin diaphragm capsules. It offers three selectable pickup patterns: Super Cardioid, Omni, and Figure 8, providing versatility for various recording applications including vocals, acoustic instruments, and overhead cymbals. The microphone includes a switchable 10 dB PAD for handling high sound pressure levels and a switchable Hi-pass filter to eliminate low-frequency noise.
| Diaphragm size | Dual 19mm capsules |
|---|---|
| PAD attenuation | 10 dB |
| Hi-pass filter cutoff | 100 Hz |
| Phantom power voltage | 36-52 Volt |
| Polar patterns | Super Cardioid, Omni, Figure 8 |
The C03 requires phantom power, which is standard on most quality mixers and outboard mic-pres. A blue LED on the microphone illuminates when phantom power is present.
The PAD switch lowers the input sensitivity of the microphone by 10 dB when set to the -10dB position, which is useful for miking loud sound sources with high SPL.
To select the Omni pickup pattern, set the C03's pattern selection switch to the right, 'O' position.
The Hi-pass filter eliminates unwanted low frequency reproduction by applying a 12dB per octave low-cut at 100 Hz when set to the 'roll-off' position.
