About this manual

The Philips SAA4997H is a VErtical Reconstruction IC (VERIC) specifically designed for use in conjunction with the Motion Adaptive Colour Plus And Control IC (MACPACIC). It decodes transmitted PALplus video signals to provide full vertical resolution of a PALplus picture from the letter box part and decoded helper information. The device generates digitally decoded 50 Hz YUV signals by reconstructing separated sub-bands into a standard 576 lines frame.
