About this manual

The A6809 and A6810 devices combine 10-bit CMOS shift registers, accompanying data latches, and control circuitry with bipolar sourcing outputs and PNP active pull-downs. Designed primarily to drive vacuum-fluorescent displays, these devices feature an increased data input rate and a controlled output slew rate to reduce electromagnetic noise. They are available with logic supply voltages of 3.3 V or 5 V, supporting typical serial-data input rates up to 33 MHz.

Frequently asked questions

What is the typical serial-data input rate?

With a 3.3 V or 5 V logic supply, typical serial-data input rates are up to 33 MHz.

What are the output source driver capabilities?

The output source drivers are npn Darlington transistors capable of sourcing up to 40 mA.

What happens when the BLANKING input is high?

When the BLANKING input is high, the output source drivers are disabled and all sink drivers are turned on.
